Good, hope people like that stop joining the police force.

The point stands, regardless of pre-existing conditions, that they used excessive force. Period.

People are supposed to join to protect and serve. It's literally the US police force motto ffs. Not to have that much power over the average person and be held less accountable for their actions.

If people are joining for power or glory, they're joining for the wrong reasons. Period. They should be joining to protect and serve. That's their whole job. Actions like this make people trust them less, which hurts the community and their ability to do their jobs.

And yeah a lot of people don't go into dangerous situations for their jobs, but most jobs are thankless. And many retail/fast food workers do get talked to like garbage and even threatened. They can't even take up for themselves without risking being fired.

They should know what they signed up for. If they're not a good fit or don't want to sign up for it, fine. Fair. But I'd prefer police to actually protect and serve than this garbage.
