The Asian guy shouldn't have hit him and explained to him with his words that racism is wrong. You should not initiate violence, but if violence goes to you, sometimes you need to do a little of it to defend yourself. Then you apologize, help them up, and then you explain to them with your words that racism is wrong. Of course, if you're so good that you can dodge, block and parry all day without hitting or getting hit, that would be better.
