An addendum says that he was illegally bringing home haunted objects regularly, which could have gotten the duck possessed, and he has been terminated. And while you may think "What a moron, bringing a bunch of dangerous haunted objects home where his daughter lives", this actually seems like something that would realistically happen. Oh, a snowglobe with the soul of an orphan in it that causes intense nightmares? Eh, nobody will miss it.
