| MacadamianNut3 07/08/20 11:56:25 AM #53: | I also didn't know that emulators don't need a beefed up CPU nowadays after experiencing stutter city with Dolphin way back on an overclocked i5-2500k, but other than that I use my computer for a lot more than gaming. I set up the Ubuntu partition to use for work and programming which does involve some machine learning even though that's mostly GPU dependent. On Windows I have used Blender and Maya in the past, and I have recently downloaded other programs like Clip Studio Pro since I'm trying to get back into making art. Those programs may not be CPU killers, but I didn't want to worry about a CPU being a bottleneck and I wanted the build in general to be relatively future proof like my 2012 one. But in your case, since you're getting a 2080 which second best gaming card someone could buy right now, I figure why not make the rest of your components like RAM and CPU match the tier --- Roll Tide & Go Irish ...
