Inviso: This one really frustrates me, because I feel like there was a strong, emotional throughline that SHOULD have elicited the proper response from meme, who cries at literally everything everand yet the movie failed in that regard. See, if you wanted to tell a story about motherhood, I think that works nicely. But the problem is that the movie was unable to tell the emotional story of motherhood without massive attempts at worldbuilding that ultimately fall flat. You establish this race of eternally-young characters, and the problem is that, after the initial attack, the movie keeps focusing on them. The princess storyline? Completely pointless. Krim? Completely pointless. Meanwhile, you introduce this Dita character for one scene, and then one OTHER scene, and it lacks ANY of the necessary emotional weight, because weve been given no investment in the character. Really, one of the major flaws is the constant timeskipping in this regard, and it just made this movie feel like it was too long and it couldve ended like FIVE times and just kept going. Its just nothing special.

Johnbobb: Ok, so this is a good movie. I can't deny that. Excellent animation, great voice acting, a well-built world, solid (if overused and distracting) music. But man, I just couldn't convince myself to care about it. I don't know what it was, but I was just not emotionally invested in this story at all. I didn't dislike it necessarily, but I was pretty bored throughout, and I can't place why that was. Gonna chalk this one up as my fault more than the film's itself.
