They got Ray Manzarek to produce and play keyboards on their first few albums because he read a review of an X show in the newspaper where they were called trash and he just had to see what they were all about. That is pretty impressive, but his keyboard really stands out. I've never had a problem with the vocals, but I tend to take a lot of things as they come like that. Wrong is excellent! Listening to it you'd think it was recorded in the mid 90s but I think it was in 87 or 88. Way ahead of their time. I got into it at first because it was suggested to me that as a bass player I'd appreciate their stuff. The bass is so loud in the mix it almost reminded me a bit of Primus, even though the music of course sounds nothing like it. Rob's singing sounds a lot like Rollins on that record too.
