This intro has a lot of problems, but the theme song is actually pretty good. I dont know who looked at Kirby and decided this character needs big band music, but it somehow worked, making the intro more fun and lively than it probably would have been with a more conventional theme song.

But aside from the theme song, theres nothing unique about the presentation and hardly any story. Weve got a dum pink ball with lots of weird powers and a penguin who wants to kill him. And if anything, that sentence just made the story sound more interesting than what we actually see in the intro.

As for the low animation score, I had no choice but to penalize this intro heavily for the astonishingly bad animation during the talking sequence (starting at around 0:21). Literally no portion of King Dedede or the character with him (whose name I admittedly dont know) moves other than their mouths when they speak, and it really stands out. Its inexcusably sloppy work, and although the rest of the intro looks much better, its hardly ever impressive.
