I've actually noticed a few auctions recently where people are selling empty tins. They aren't getting tons for them and some are including the GX cards too but they are certainly getting enough to warrant selling them as long as you charge shipping.

Quick search shows these selling in the past few days

25 empty tins for $35 (plus $15 shipping)
30 empty tins plus 26 GX cards for $47 (plus $28 shipping)
9 empty tins for best offer (listed at $35. Not sure why ebay won't tell you best offer accepted price)

I'd imagine best bet is to just list them as an Auction with shipping charged and whatever they sell for, they sell for.

Alternatively I've seen people bundle the tins in with other sales as a container for them. Depending on the item that makes shipping harder though.
