Did Garrus' loyalty mission today. It wasn't all that interesting. He had tracked down a former member of his band of vigilantes, who had betrayed him, resulting in the deaths of the rest of the squad and Garrus transforming into the more grizzled version of himself we've come to know in this game. We had to spend some time fighting a guy named Harkin to learn where this betrayer, Sidonis, was hiding. Harkin was apparently a character from the first game but I can't remember who he was or where we met him.

When Shepard and Garrus ultimately confronted Sidonis, he claimed that he had been coerced into his betrayal with threats of violence and expressed intense guilt over it. Shepard managed to convince Garrus not to kill him for this reason. Garrus wasn't entirely satisfied with this result and asked to talk to Shepard later.

Since we were on the Citadel, we also met that one reporter from the first game, who gave a tough pointed interview to Shepard. That was a long encounter in the first game, but in this one it feels like more of an encounter intended to give the player some quick satisfaction as Shepard immediately shuts her down. You can even deck her if you're playing as a renegade, which is kind of funny. I thought the interview in ME1 was more interesting, though.

I brought Tali along with Garrus to have an ME1 reunion team on an ME1 area, and they had some dialog about the old times, specifically the space elevators that the first game used to disguise load times. That was cute.
