Even disregarding the embarrassingly bad green screen of Chuck Norris in front of the sky (which I assume looked acceptable back in the 90s), theres some really goofy moments like Norris eyes appearing in the sun and the flames around the Texas Ranger badge. Also, the intro doesnt seem to know if it wants us to view Norris as a badass with a mean spin kick or a fun-loving guy who grins while a woman gets him in a headlock. Id say the goofy personality is what mostly comes across here, and its actually one of the only ways this intro advances a story beyond showing what we already know from the title, that the hero is a Texas Ranger. The theme song is the best thing about the intro, which isnt saying much. Its a generic country-ish song, and I dont care for the parts where the vocalist is basically just talking. But the melody on the chorus is all right and at least makes the song memorable. --- I don't want to alarm you, but there may be a boogeyman or boogeymen in the house ... Copied to Clipboard! |
