And they shouldn't be since it's well known that most reviewers base their entire review on an hour or so of play. Reviews are useless.

let's say the vast majority of reviews are saying that a game has problems: game breaking glitches, poor gameplay, poor syncing, etc.

at the very least, that can save you some time and/or money until patches come out to hopefully fix some of those issues.

or if the vast majority say that the gameplay is great, the soundtrack is amazing, the visuals are beautiful, etc. then you might be swayed to try something out that you might not have otherwise.

yea, mostly good/bad reviews aren't always good to reflect people's interests, but time and money are precious resources, and we don't want to waste either.
