I mean, I get it, things with Marvel are complicated, but first of all, they should still be able to call the character Captain Marvel I think (just not the movie) and second it just felt so weird that they couldn't at least just take the loss and call him Shazam. They still own the character but there's no brand / marketing / merchandising advantage to calling him Captain Marvel if they can't use that name on products and advertisement. It's considered a lost cause at this point. Everyone who cares about Shazam know he's called Captain Marvel.
