I beat the level I finished off on yesterday, but I got I think four or five game overs in the process, not kidding. Thankfully the level in question (Native Fortress I think it's called?) had a ton of extra lives right at the end, as if anticipating how difficult players would find it. I went into this session planning only to beat the one level, but I felt so good afterwards that I went right on ahead to the next one, which I finished without much hassle. Then Ripper Roo kicked my ass all the way to Sunday and I decided to stop here for now.

I don't know entirely how to put this, but the takeaway from this session for me is how good it can feel to know the specific sequence to take and execute it closer to perfection each time. It may involve a lot of trial-and-error, but the feeling of accomplishment is worth it. That said, the thing that tripped me up the most was not really knowing how to make longer jumps. XIII_Rocks told me in a PM he finds the controls in the collection overly responsive, which I might agree with. I hear the other two games are easier though, so another good sign.
