Completed the Feros section of the game today. We shuttle down to help a human colony under Geth attack, only to eventually learn that it was the base of operations for a corporation called Exogeni who take some cues from Weyland-Utani of the Alien franchise, and are deliberately infecting the colonists with spores from a giant mind-controlling plant called the Thorian for the purpose of study. Along with a lot of riding around in the mako, this meant fighting some zombies that slowly walk toward you while you pop them off with no threat and incapacitating mentally enslaved humans with grenades, which was kind of annoying since you can only carry 6 at a time, but with a couple of reloads I managed to get the full +32 Paragon points for that section. I feel jealous of people playing renegade, since slaughtering all the colonists would've been much easier and more enjoyable from a gameplay perspective.

After all that, we deal with a long "boss fight" where you run around a room shooting wall-mounted plant tendrils in between rounds against the same Asari clone and a bunch of useless Thorian Creepers, and finally we learn that Saren contacted the Thorian to gain Prothean ancestral memories and then tried to destroy it so we couldn't do the same, but a released Asari sister of Liara's shares those memories with us and Saren's plans for this area are (somewhat) foiled.

On the whole, this part has a lot of missteps gameplay wise but was intriguing enough as part of the story.
