Business owner defending his business is a different story entirely. It's the person directly harmed catching people in the act. He's got a right to protect himself and his property.

The who is different, the facts are different.

A reasonable person would assume that people not there for the protest, walking away with goods from where looting has occurred, at a time when only protestors and looters are out, likely had looted from the store.

If looters can be murdered for looting, inconveniencing them should also fall under the category of "acceptable" behavior.
