It had a very quiet Wii VC release on the WiiU, presumably because of how much trouble a lot of people had finding a Wii copy (at least until Gamestop mysteriously found a whole bunch of "used" copies that they then started selling for $90 after watching the game go for $120+ online for six months >.>). The 3DS and Switch releases have gotten a lot more promotion than that did.

I can see that. Tbh, the 3DS was the first time I heard about it. I didn't even know there was a Wii version until after I got it. Haha. And I don't even really hear about things on the VC coming out... except when DK64 came out, IIRC...

And GameStop is one of the worst place, tbh. All the shit that they pull...

I'm not even sure I'd say that X was from the same series. It's similar enough to qualify as a spinoff, but the fundamental gameplay structure, art style, and stories are very different, particularly where the way its story ended very much set up further sequels to that story in particular. By contrast, Xenoblade 2 was much more similar to the first game, making it much easier to say that it's in the same series.

Maybe it's me, but the gameplay seems similar enough. In that is was the same type of fighting (auto-battle, and use skills to break, topple, and daze the enemies or whatever every skill does). Which I don't see as many games doing. And the Art seemed similar, but I also haven't played X in years now... Though, the story is pretty different. Though, I heard something. But it may not be true. But I heard that if you played all the games to end, there was something that very loosely tied it together somewhat. But I never beat it, so Idk...

As for 2, while I think it connects to one more storywise, I feel the gameplay is very different due to the blades. It's not bad, but definitely different. I think the fighting for 1 and X are much closer than 1 and 2. The main differences seem to be the skells in X, and the affinity only affects you character in X instead of each character to each other in 1... I think 2 is similar to 1, but X seems closer to 1 battlewise just because it seemed like the same way to battle... I actually learned to to battle better in 1 after playing X. Haha.
