Round 4 Preview

We have narrowed the field down to 16 games.
Overall, results have generally fallen in the way of the seedings.
We did have two upsets with Paperboy and Moonwalker overcoming the odds.
But the biggest thing to take away from Round 3...
We had 6 ties out of 16 matches. Unprecedented!
Just goes to show every vote counts, folks!

We've come a long way to get to where we are now.
I'm sure each voter, secretly, has their own guilty pleasure still alive.
A particular game that they are hoping will win it all.

Let's take a look at the final 8 match-ups...

Superman 64 and Shaq Fu have collided. Somehow... as if by fate.
What a showdown. One for the ages.
Both are arguably their respective consoles worst ever games.

Silver Surfer vs Street Fighter 2010...
Silver Surfer has been a total dark horse. Smashed it in Round 1 and 2.
Earned itself a #3 seed. And then continued to dominate.
It will face Street Fighter 2010 who has rised above everything thrown at it.

Moonwalker vs Roger Rabbit. Absolutely no idea how this will play out.
Both have received plenty of love. Very decent games!
Give me controller with either game on the TV and I'm happy.

My personal dream final. TMNT vs Ghosts N Goblins. But one must fall.
TMNT was the first game I ever owned. (PC version).
I never ever got past that water stage. But man I loved the game and the turtles.
GnG (Master System version) is in my All-Time Top 10 favourite games.
I'm actually invested in beating Super Ghouls N Ghosts right now, as we speak.
Both of these games, despite their brutal nature, are ridiculously fun.

Ninja Gaiden has a big fan base and goes up against proven popular Darkwing Duck.
Despite it's difficulty, those who master Ninja Gaiden know what a blast it is.
There always seems to be a WR attempt speedrun on Twitch too... 10 minutes? Give or take?
Darkwing Duck will be a big underdog. It's also a fun game. And the cartoon was great.

Metal Gear vs Double Dragon III. This is the Main Event of Round 4.
How did these heavyweights collide so early?
Massive nostalgia. Fantastic games. Metal Gear was even in the Summer 2004 contest!
Was the original Double Dragon? I can't remember...
Bimmy vs I Feel Asleep. Great games. Great series.
This could easily have been the final! And just maybe, the winner takes it all.

Paperboy and Plumbers Don't Wear Ties wouldn't strike anyone as being tournament favourites.
But both games managed to finish in the Top 2 in both their Round 1 and 2 groups.
Then, both breezed past their respective Round 3 opponents.
Destiny awaits these two outside chances.

Castlevania II vs Friday the 13th.
Simon's Quest is the #1 seed and has flattened everything that's stood before it.
4 of the remaining 15 opponents, were in Castlevania's original Round 1 group.
Which just goes to show the strength of that group. And Castlevania!
It doubled everything in points that day!
It takes on Friday the 13th. A game that has continually dodged bullets to make it this far.
