Factually it doesn't equal 1. Mechanically, there are situations where it might as well be rounded up. Like damn, we don't go around calling tomatoes fruits because we address it through a culinary lens, not a botanical lens. Given that the situation doesn't call for a measurement of .99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999108, it doesn't matter if it's considered tantamount to 1 or not.
Do people still fall for this?
