There's good intent in that last line, but you're just looking at the 'mental illness problem', where they keep inventing new terms because the old ones were made offensive. The "r" word used to be professional and technical, for example.

While that is true, I've observed that when people hear the word "masculinity" preceeded by "toxic", they will perceive it as the opening to an attack. Which is understandable, since toxic is a common insult these days. It makes them defensive, and they may feel as though I'm taking an issue with their masculinity entirely, rather than the unhealthy practices encouraged by the societal definition of it.
