I'm usually pretty good at taking tests; the issue is mostly that the amount of material I could potentially be responsible for is very broad, so in the absence of my advisor giving me a list of stuff to study I'm kinda left guessing at what would be considered fair game. Luckily they don't expect you to get everything perfect, so being blindsided on one question would probably be fine unless it shot my nerves and snowballed. I do have a presentation from a few weeks ago that went well and which I'm adapting for the research talk component of the exam, though I need to cut out probably like... 60% of it for it to fit in time and give me room for whatever "future goals" junk I need to add.
