i'm concerned at the possibility that voters will definitely not listen to all of the songs and come in with the intent of only voting for one or two songs of a set, especially with the real songs that have already been heard at this point. and i feel like this will apply even more if votes are going to be limited further to pms, thus not only skewing it more in favour of the songs that get the +3s and nothing else out of 9 songs because it will be presumably from a smaller pool of votes, but also enabling people to approach it that way when, you know, pms are a lot more private and you don't exactly have nearly as much of an incentive to back up your picks among your peers with writeups on the songs or anything like that*. that said, irrespective of whether or not that's an issue which it may well not be, it's meant to be an ultimately fairly minor thing either way so perhaps that's actually more than fine enough for the intents of this bracket. if anything, my actual biggest complaint is that it's being approached as a really big ordeal and not a more informal thing like say... a strawpoll being left open for a few days or something until the day of the match (not that i'd call that exact example ideal considering this had a pretty dynamic voting system of its own, but you know, something along those lines) on the side rather than a big major thing interrupting the flow of the contest on a regular basis that also probably shouldn't be just a thing to only spend 1 day on.

also if you don't do that (or still switch to pms, maybe) i'd make sure the counting order note is in a more clear place in the post than just the bottom of the extra rules, like ideally in the same place as the easy vote form with all the sample votes just to make sure that it's actually actually clear. i don't think too many people missed it or forgot about it by the time they voted this time thankfully but i figured an extra reminder never hurts

apologies i did not address any of the questions that directly but yeah that's my critique, overall i think probably whatever people think is fine is fine, the current system included if people say so because i personally didn't have any issues with voting here, i just saw ways it could be smoother

*yes this is probably a biased viewpoint
