That's actually one of the things I love about MM. There's this open ended aspect to it. There's a ton of side quests you can do right away or you can jump right into the first dungeon.

Also for the Bunny Hood first you've got to get the Bremen Mask on the 2nd Night at the Laundry Pool. Then on Day 3 head to Romani Ranch and at the far end of the ranch you'll find two doors. The one on the right leads to a ranch with the cuccoos, if you put on the Bremen Mask and March around gathering all of them they'll start turning into adult roosters where you'll be gifted the Bunny Hood. Easily one of the most useful masks in the game.
