Ah, I missed getting into the original before it hit 500 so I was thinking of making a new topic, thanks for covering it.

I got the plat + mastered playlog, at 99 hours 55 minutes, which is almost poetic...

It was late at night, I had heard what a nightmare the arena Bahamut fight was so I figured, oh I'll take a stab at it tonight, see how hard Megaflare hits for, get a gameover, and then retry properly the next day.

....yeah of course it killed everybody BUT Reprieve activated on two of them and I managed to beat him before he could do another Megaflare. Pride and Joy really was too easy by comparison.

Funny thing is the day after getting the platinum trophy I decided to go back and do the summon gauntlet and the final boss sequence again - which I game over'ed at a bunch in the first couple of fights on the first go-around - and found everything way easier. Maybe Gotterdammerung helped a bit with that, who knows... so now over 101 hours.

But one thing I will say unironically: Sephiroth was more trouble than Bahamut for me, as absurd as that sounds... even more trouble on my 2nd go-around because while Aerith was the first "show up" person in that fight in my initial hard mode playthrough, after I did the summon fights again Tifa was the first "show up" person. Hurt to not have the healer come in quick.

Also the game makes me want to replay original FF7, bad. I'll probably start on it soon, and really do every nook-and-cranny and random battle possible in Midgar, which I usually just breeze through.
