I guess the difference between 5th place and 3rd place wasn't much for him amd it was worth it to avoid that while also helping Sarah's game. The funny thing was that it probably hurt Sarah more than it helped. If she votes out Michele there, Sarah has a virtually guaranteed spot in the final 3.
