Fun Fact: Smoke on the Water was based on an actual event. The members of Deep Purple watched the fire from across the lake as the smoke spread across the water. Having lost their place to record and with time running out, they "had to find another place". They "ended up at the Grand Hotel" de Territet, which was mostly "empty, cold and bare"
