There were 30 games that tied with three nominations that were fighting to make the above field. Four needed to be cut to get us to 200. In lieu of a boring round of tiebreaking involving games that are, let's face it, not in good position to go far in the contest, I decided to eliminate the four games with the lowest Metacritic rating. It's simple and not emblematic of what Board 8 thinks, but it's the most efficient way to trim the field to get us into the contest proper. In the interest of full disclosure, the four games that got cut by this method were Deadly Premonition, Resident Evil Revelations 2, Spec Ops: The Line, and The Wonderful 101.
