It's the commodification of women's bodies and surrenders the child's right to know its birth mother. As a sperm bank kid, I'm personally vested in the latter.

Stuff like this doesn't piss me off, but it's absolutely something most people take for granted. Progress develops from creating these conversations. It's why sperm donations, for example, are far more regulated than they used to be.

That makes perfect sense.

Laws may be different in our respective countries, but I was under the impression that there were strict laws forbidding paid surrogacy (although those could, I suppose, be circumvented).
