Wk. 1, Jan. whateveryearitis why does 2020 not give me the date at the top of the screen

Omochao and Nicole the Holo-Lynx welcome us to another thrilling episode of Sonic Boom! We're gearing up for Sonic Spinball in two weeks, and Eggman is standing in the ring waiting to reveal his mystery partner! Eggman promised us that an old friend would be coming to freshen up the Metal Empire, and he does mean one of his oldest (and only) friends! He is pleased to bring out.....Metal Sonic! Metal Sonic has been a free agent for a while now, but it looks like he's going to be lending some much-needed zest to Eggman's group! Sonic comes out to the ramp to tell Eggman it doesn't matter how many tin cans he brings back from the scrap heap, he and Tails will be ready for them at Sonic Spinball! (72) Eggman and Metal Sonic are in high spirits, and they show us why by making fairly short work of the Cajun Connection (Antoine d'Coollette and Bunnie Rabbot, accompanied by Princess Sally tonight) in the opening bout. (51)

Espio Chameleon is warming up backstage, when he is interrupted by the debuting Manny Calavera! Manny asks if Espio is supposed to be some kinda ninja. We can't see him, or something? There's another guy out there nobody can see, but he's big enough to kick Espio into the net like a soccer ball. Espio is clearly annoyed, but doesn't dignify the heckling with a response. (55, Manny's Grim Reaper was rated Great) Silver the Hedgehog is backstage. He's been sensing something dark in the air lately. Something disturbing. He has to find it and deal with it....before it's too late. (58)

One half of the STH Tag Champions, Mighty the Armadillo is in action next. He's facing Grounder, who'd love an upset win here to get him and Scratch out of the basement of the tag division. Doesn't seem likely to happen though....until Grounder slips a corner charge, and Mighty slams into the post! He's woozy from the impact....and Grounder rolls him up for the 3! (30, Grounder's Lucky was rated Adequate)

cAn YoU fEeL tHe SuNsHiNe....?.....Tails Doll comes out to its usual dark arena and creepy theme music, in no hurry at all to start its match. (36) He will be facing Sticks in a match that is painful for Sticks as well as the audience, dragging on for the customary 15 minutes before he finishes her off. (31) E-123 Omega is backstage, toting around his 50 Ring Belt. Nack the Weasel pops out of nowhere and jumps him! Nack takes out the midcard champ before posing with the belt. (43, Nack's Trophy Hunter was rated Very Good)

We've got a non-title match up next: Knuckles won't be putting the Master Emerald on the line in this "friendly" contest with his "friend" Espio. Espio's been getting kinda edgy on us lately, and a bit of a power struggle has broken out in the Chaotix as a result. Both of them would like to settle things here, but neither is in a hurry to throw the first punch. Battle is eventually joined after a lengthy feeling-out process, and Espio gives the champ a run for his money, but at the end of it all, power beats speed this time, and Knuckles wins clean. (53)

Princess Sally catches up to Sonic backstage. She reminds him that Metal Sonic is not to be underestimated, and points out how quickly they took out Antoine and Bunnie. Sonic reminds her that he and Tails are a bit stronger than those two. They'll be fine, don't worry! (64) We're cut off from further conversation as the cameras are on to something big backstage! We're taken to the locker room....where Knuckles is lying on the floor! Over him stands Chaos, gloating over the destruction. (60)

Tails is going to be teaming with Sonic at the PPV, but for tonight he's joining Amy Rose in the main event, facing Shadow the Hedgehog and Rouge the Bat of Team Dark. Team Dark has been putting the "anti" in "anti-hero" lately, and to demonstrate, Shadow gets the win over Tails with a straight up nut shot. (50)

Not enough interesting storylines

My takeaway today is we need more/better road agents because that was a ding on just about everything we did
