That there hasn't already been centuries of demand for an easy fix for common and/or lethal viral infections? That a random layperson (which, when it comes to medical matters, is all Trump is) is actually going to be suggesting anything new by casually throwing such ideas out there?

Nobody who isn't completely clueless would have thought this was a worthwhile idea, and no clueless person with a modicum of self-awareness would have thought the medical professionals around him needed to hear it. That Trump felt the need to share this idiotic idea is a testament to just how cluelessly self-absorbed he is. You're not going to be able to convince anyone otherwise that doesn't already worship the man.

Or, and maybe youre just too common a layperson to think of this, maybe theres too much legislation preventing companies from adapting commercially available surface disinfectants into antiviral drugs and so its never really been looked to hard into before...
