Vanguard Zero out today. Feel free to try it out. I'd say if you find your clan and have one decent deck at all, you'll find the pvp pretty engaging and the game both complex and not complex enough to be restrictive at the same time. It is a card game and a very luck based card game at times. But it has a lot of structure, resource management, and fisticuffs.

Beginner tips:

You can reroll by completing the tutorial and getting the launch packs and rolling them all. I think you get a total of like 30-40 packs? I'm not sure atm. If you don't get the result you want, just go to the title screen, delete user by clicking the option tab on the top right

Aim for 6-7 RRRs in the same clan. It's a bit daunting but a lot more possible than it sounds. You can't mix match clans, and having even 1 fully built deck will make the experience much much better for you. I'd say RRs and Sentinels are equally important. If you get 4 key RRR in a single clan and 3-4 Sentinels (or also called PG for Perfect Guard), that's probably just as good as getting 6 RRRs. Btw, 4 copies is max per card

Here are the best cards that have longevity and immediate relevance in each clan in the order of importance, all RRR unless stated otherwise:

Royal Paladin: Gancelot, Soul Saver Dragon, Palamedes (RR), Lohengin (R) (Blaster Blade is a good pull but they give a ton away of him for free)

Nova Grappler: Asura Kaiser, Brutal Jack, Transraiser (R), Gold Rutile (R)

Oracle Think Tank: Silent Tom, OTT's PG x4 (Honestly, the rest of the cards in this clan are mostly interchangeable. Rest of the RRR are great but not necessary)

Kagero: Dragonic Overlord, Blockade, Goku (RR), Berserk Dragon (RR)

Explanation:

For example, reroll til you get at least 3+ Gancelot or don't even think about using RP. They're the weakest clan but Gancelot makes it still worth running.

You can run Nova Grappler without 3+ Asura Kaiser because it has strong rares and commons, but you'd still want as many copy of the ones I listed for the strongest Nova deck.

OTT cards have mostly similar power level. The more recycling and draws you fit into the deck, the better. 4 PGs for OTT is almost a pre-requisite, and Silent Tom is the strongest part about the deck, even though it will not be obvious til you get to the higher lvl play.

Kagero is broken. I'd say the strongest deck of the format. The more Dragonic Overlord and Blockade you pull the better. All of their rares and commons are good too, so once you pull enough of those 2 guys, you can start running this deck. Goku singlehandedly destroys Royal Paladins and are pretty useful against the other two clans, so I'd say getting 3-4 of him will maximize your Kagero deck's longevity.

Things to do first:

Aim to roll at least 80-90 times by doing a bunch of tasks. Build a strong deck, unlock Fighter Grade 12, and try to 3 star the NPC fights on Hard and Very Hard for the clan you want to use. Because then you'll unlock Quick Fight for those difficulties, which is a literal point and click and you just get the winning results immediately. You don't have to auto duel almost ever in this game. This isn't easy to do however without a great deck, which is why I recommend you reroll for the result I've stated above.

Playstyles:

To fully understand this, at least pass the tutorial and see the game's rules

RP: 2 straight turns of destroying intercept for early rushing, good board swarming

OTT: Constant draws and recycling hand to get as many PGs into your hands, various top deck checking mechanic that lets you decide between drawing the card you want or stacking the top of the deck with a trigger. Pretty defensive in general, but also strong when going on offensive, has Silent Tom for cheesy game finishes

Nova: Lots of re-standing, recycling costs used to re-stand. Re-standing is great because you constantly get to bash your face into intercepts and PGs

Kagero: Constantly destroy your opponent's rearguards and have a ton of insane boss monsters with big one-per-game sorta effects

It's difficult to explain everything that a new player should know in such a limited space, so feel free to ask, hopefully you guys at least try it out. I'd say the early part of the game is the worst because your card pool is limited, but early part of ranked battles should be with people that have as bad of a card pool as you do. Reroll and aim high early and you'll have way more fun in all part of the game, as obvious as that may sound.

Ask me anything though if you guys need help. My friend code is 701,924,988
