I played through this game a few months ago and honestly I don't know if I'd really recommend it. It was okay but it really didn't grip me for the 30 or so hours it took to beat. The combat is very basic and you either have the stats to win a fight or you chip away at a boss for 30 minutes and dodge all of his attacks. It's like what if they took the Tales combat system from recent games like Berseria and dumbed it down to the lowest level.

There's also a collection/breeding style system for little spirits but it was pretty pointless and I actually just avoided it for the most part during my play through. Ditto for the armor/weapon crafting and spell creation. There are some times where it's useful but otherwise just pointless because the combat is based almost entirely on the level of your characters. If you run into an enemy that's 10-15 levels above your character then you're going to get 1 shot. If you level up 5 times and keep the same gear suddenly you're on equal footing.

There's a Kingdom building simulator thing that takes up a lot of time but it's all just sinking resources and waiting for buildings to be built/ research to be done. It feels more like a mobile game because the buildings are on a real world timer (that DOESN'T tick down while you're not playing). So if that building is going to take 3 hours to build you might as well just leave the game running and go do something else. There's no customization to how your kingdom looks, every building has a pre-selected spot, you just get to pick who manages the building. But every character has a building that they're expert at managing so it's less about managing your town and more just looking through a list and picking the correct shape to put in the hole.

Quests are all either fetch quests or "go here and kill this monster for me" and most of them will recruit the character to your kingdom so you can put them in the right building.

There's ALSO an RTS style kingdom vs kingdom battle system that's a weird rock, paper, scissors thing and it's pointless too except for the few times the game forces you to do it.

The story is not very good and voice acting is sporadic. It's like they flipped a coin to see which scenes should have voice acting or not.

So yeah I'd say avoid unless you don't have anything better or if you think the combat looks fun after watching a few videos on youtube.
