oops i forgot i hadn't voted yesterday

i might as well mention them so i can decide what to pick for favs bracket purposes
exec z and flightless are two... well-dressed songs that i have basically a non-reaction to. which is to say they're very underwhelming while curoiously still having good things in them. flightless is not a song that i think is very good like at all but it has acceptable aspects. exec z just wastes the sound design and general goodwill it has as the specific song it is in an ar tonelico game with exec in its name. unhype. a tough decision albeit not since i know i'd just vote the pso2 song over it even though it accidentally sounds like a fire emblem song instead oops. also somnom too very easily. i'd really take a lot of things over the songs in the first match actually. also, i still love bad midi karma oops i mean meaning of birth but i still wouldn't have voted for it lol.

ANYWAY, MOVING ON

i'm of the opinion that there was a lot of room for improvement when it came to the rhythm game songs that got in this time (rip all the really good cytus/deemo songs that didn't even come close to making it) but aiueoon is an exception it is quite okay. and quite okay is more than enough to get a vote from me with a persona song with so little to talk about

so anyway going back to the rhythm game point, i also don't mind rafflesia but i also don't feel strongly about rafflesia. i still do not feel as strongly about dj totto as a pretty decent number of other bemani folk and think that stuff like this is merely good. but at least it's something. that said, i'm sure you can predict by now where the direction of this sentence is going yes, merely good is not enough to get a vote from me with its opponent. there's a lot of nice little things in its rather understated shmup package

and here's the part where listening to stuff like bolt and sword and flightless in the same sitting may be getting to me. thank goodness i&e is the type of song it is because i was feeling even more negative about the first 4 mins of it than usual. credit to it for getting me back on board though i'm still not as big on it as i feel i should be. anyway, i like what the shovel knight soundtrack goes for and it definitely works. that said, megaman is just a flavour it's not a thing i want to look for all the time in videogame music. a very sometimes food. almost today but not quite, maybe i'll go look for it when i go shopping tomorrow
