Don't Worry
Battle! (Colress)
Starry Heavens

Apostle's Maraud

THIS REMINDS ME OF FIRE EMBLEM fates kind of. the brass and guitar and violins on this track all kind of mix together in my ears and it's extremely hard for me to pay attention to the track as a result. it's also very rhythmic it's easy to get lost in. the best way i can describe this song is there's 'width' to it but there's not a lot of 'height' the mental image i have for this song is a very tight squeeze between a ceiling and the sea. you can't move 'up'. i love the intro of this song though.

Don't Worry

i gotta vote aimee blackschleger over raiden... for whatever reason a lot of the soundtracks she's sung in have been checkmarks for personal points in my life [fallen angel from p&swg is one song that especially stands out]. hiroyuki sawano i don't particularly care a LOT for his composition style is very edgy and gritty and dark and synth laden and IT FEELS LIKE A BATTLEFIELD cyberpunk. making this clear if this had no vocals i would have preferred apostle's maraud by some but aimee's vocals push this above it.

Battle! Colress

USUALLY I TYPE UP ALL THE SONG TITLES and go through in order but i'm doing this song first because i love it. it gives me the big 'ufo zooming around the world' vibe that i get from plok - beach which [is my favorite vgm of all time]. like these 'low sample rate glassy' sweeping synth leads that go everywhere AND THERE'S COOL COMPUTER NOISES IN THE BACKGROUND which are kind of like plok beach arps 5 343422221 `12412231. NUMBERS NUMBERS NUMBERS. CALCULATIONS. I AM A ROBOT. THERE'S COOL RAVE STABS IN THIS. at the end it feels like the whole 'order' of the song is falling apart and the ufo is crashing oh no!!! but then it restabilises itself and starts gliding all over the world and shooting INTENSE BZZZZZZZ VGM BEAM RAYS AT THE WORLD. def in my top 20 songs of the contest if not my top 10 lol. there's these cool deep echo sounds at 1:08 i love. THE POWER OF INTERSTELLAR COMPUTATIONAL DEVICE.

King Noah

WOAH COOL GUITAR ARPS AT THE BEGINNING THANK YOU I APPRECIATE THIS and clicky beats and then it goes into DNB which sounds like a vacuum.... i like it when the vox instruments come in and then the vacuum sound goes away and then these shimmery background pads come in its cool very trancey it feels like i'm floating in an ocean of STARS. it goes all chop chop breakbeat-y after that which i like. this game is very hard!!! i remember having to force myself to take a break from it because i really wanted to complete it but it was really stressing me out. fond memories though, all things considered.

Preserved Valkyria

RHYTHM GANIME. 'how to make orchestra cool again'. IT HAS THESE COOL STACCATO SECTIONS OF STRINGS THAT I REALLY LOVE AT SECTIONS. also what's up with that piano lol it feels like you just took out all the keys from a keyboard threw them on a ground and they made sounds like they were still attached to a piano. the end of this song has vaguely the same rhythm as mega man elec man and some of the same chords as well it's like a 'dark world' version.

Starry Heavens

WOAH 2000S ANIME i like this thank you for nominating this . . . this has cool glittery pads at the beginning. after that it basically turns into what i think is late 90s early 2000s anime music COOL ORCHESTRA SOUNDS, GUITAR, drum kit and singer. IT REMINDS ME OF LIKE. JAM PROJECT... actually. same kind of production values. the people in jam project do mecha intros i like mecha intros therefore it makes sense i like this.
