Because of its anonymous nature, you can't rely on reputation or authority to garner clout and acknowledgement, you have to have something insightful or contribute in a meaningful manner at each and every point else your post will get ignored, scrutinized or downright ripped apart at worst. It's because of this ruthless culture that good ideas thrive. A good application of this is in the crypto community, 4chan is always the first to deduce the most profitable projects to invest in.
