Heres the thing, you LITERALLY work for a health insurance company, so the people you speak to at hospitals are people whose jobs may rely entirely on you existing, so you and your sample are not exactly unbiased here.

I speak to people in billing departments, the ones that handle all of the financials. They're going to have a job if insurance companies no longer exist. While I can't say for sure that they're not all lying and trying to get out of being investigated for insurance fraud, I've heard the same story enough times where I personally don't think that the people who handle billing for doctors and hospitals all over the country have agreed to tell insurers the same thing.

As I've said before, I have no problem losing my job for the sake of a singer payer system in this country, but it has to be one that I feel will work. If I felt it would I'd be rooting for it against my own best interests. Based on my personal experience in the industry though, I don't feel M4A is the way to do it. I'm hoping my friend at the clinic still gets the chance to move to Ireland later this year, because I really want to get her firsthand account of how their system works from the inside.
