Rude Buster
Silver Star Crysta Kaleido
Invitation Flower ~ Autumn

-rude buster is fairly RUDE and most of my liking for it revolves around its initial looping four-bar groove but it's fine because it's a very groovy four bars indeed
-I think I am lacking the brain power right now for brain power and its wobble bass-y euro-infused intentions; nice lyrics though (actually that section with the stuttering vocals is probably my favourite part of the song yeah)

-kinda getting mid 90s anime vibes from ssck (something about the electronic production and the vocal mix, I think); filtered electronic percussion is a plus here; grows on me over time
-bright shiny catchy kaufman-- very virt; don't always love the progression but consistently high energy and 1:41 is great; feels like a track that would evoke "BANGER" comments in a vgmgg
-very close match; ask me on a different day and I might wobble (like brain power's bass)

-SOLD on IF~A's intro, as always; since this is like the tenth time I'm hearing this I note different things now like the fairly low-key portamento synth sitting under the whole track, or that strange panning... sound effect? every two bars-- I wonder what it's intended to represent; I enjoy 1:11 a lot more now than when I first heard this; I wonder which composer in the composer listing wrote this?! I bet it's Georges Bizet
-six feet THUNDER down under but instead of thunder it's organ runs; very danny b. in a previous vgmc I learned that there are two schools of people-- people who listen to portabellohead and think 'wow this is a pretty cool track and a standout from this game's soundtrack' and people who think 'man why portabellohead of all tracks from this soundtrack' and it was amazing to me how cleanly separated and unequivocal these two groups were. (I belong to the former group) as with a lot of danny b music I feel like there's a catchiness to this that I just can't get into; there are two really conventional endings to the progression starting at 1:11 and while both of them are obvious the one that was picked is the one I like less; it's a lot of stuff like this-- I inch closer to the music but each time I am rebuffed by it as it stands resolutely next to musical decisions I can't really enjoy. and honestly that's okay! it retired, and many other people enjoy it just fine
