It's basically a meme at this point and anyone can easily pick and choose individuals to craft the narrative they want, but it makes sense in theory. Conservative women are more likely to adhere to traditional feminine roles and appearances (style, hair) while liberal women typically rebel against that and do the whole "Death to the patriarchy!" thing. I guess it's "not true at all" if your type is short-haired alt chicks that are heavy into feminism.

I was gonna make a counter picture to it (it'd be really easy to do the liberal women since that's basically just any 32 female celebrities) but then I realized I don't think I even know of enough conservative women to do the conservative side

Also I think your theory about traditional femininity is probably offset by the fact that conservatives tend to be poorer and less health conscious so you get a lot of fat trailer trash on that side.
