Was it because they kept repeating it? Because I mean someone using it exactly once within earhsot of you and you storm over and are like "Okay, you're done. Time to go."

I work at a microbrewery, in a small, kinda old hicktown outside of Pittsburgh.

Most of our clientele are civilized, modern folk who just want to hang out and have some beers. Some of them have obviously questionable views, but at least have the decency to not blurt out hate speech.

Every so often though, you get some dude who literally just walked out of the river in his fishing gear, asks for "the closest thing to a normal fucking beer", and starts rambling about all of the things he can't stand. Eventually the slurs pour out.

And then yes, I tell them that hate speech isn't welcome at our brewery and that if we hear it again they'll be asked to leave. And I usually say it loud enough so everyone knows who the doofus of the room is. 98% of the time that's all they need to get all pissy and leave so they can go vomit their slurs at the smoke filled dive bar down the street. 1% of the time they apologize and hang around.

Then the other 1% is a food truck vendor that has been harassing women all night, says he can smell 9/11 dust on an Iranian, makes endless gay jokes and is an all around asshole. So when you cal him out on it, tell him to pack his shit up and leave, and leave him horrible reviews on Yelp, he has them deleted, comes in later and threatens to kill/sue you and says he does more for minorities than anyone in the food industry.
