I can say from experience that the people who got into the narrative never cared about the truth. If anything they got louder after the court case than before it. It's just that this was 7 years ago now Just like people don't talk about the Central Park 5 anymore or Clock Kid or Kony 2012. And in 10 years time they won't be talking about Epstein or Kobe Bryant or Trump's impeachment. That's what the news cycle is, a cycle.
