I was right there with you a couple weeks ago. Last real run was on the 14th, and for a couple days after that it was very painful. My work requires me to go up and down stairs 10-15 times a day. Ouch. The next ~10 days there was a persistent dull ache, only when I exerted it. It's been better the past couple days, and I've started walking again. Even some very light jogging for 3 minutes today. I notice the discomfort is reduced when I focus on relaxing my feet while I run. I have a tendency to hold them very rigid, and I'm wondering if that's applying extra pressure on my knee. Trying to be looser and more relaxed, and hoping I can get back to running like I was before. Such a drag to be dealing with injury now when I'm stuck at my house and want to get into the best shape I can.

I was pretty certain that my issue was IT Band Syndrome (ITBS) which is actually more of a hip problem that causes pain in the outer knee. I googled a bunch of glute strengthening exercises that I've been doing daily.

After 3 days off, I managed to run for an hour with 0 pain today, which is very promising but what matters more is how I feel tomorrow. I have had a few runs with "1/5" or "2/5" pain in the last 2 weeks only to end up with "4/5" pain the next day.
