Hm

It might have to do with Florida having such a high percentage of elderly people per capita. Number two in the nation after... Maine, actually. But Maine only has like 155 confirmed cases.

States like California and New York have higher overall numbers of elderly people, but also bigger populations overall and as a result bigger medical infrastructures, so the per capita is the better number to go by as it would be a better indicator about which medical infrastructures are going to be overburdened.
