It's more like the testing has confirmed what we all suspected to be true.

And we still don't have enough tests being done. In the Tampa area, for example, they started testing people at Raymond James Stadium. The testing center was supposed to run from Wednesday to Sunday; it closed this morning because they ran out of tests, which means there are thousands more people out there that can't be tested for coronavirus. That also means that we have no CLUE what the real number of people infected by coronavirus is, either in the state of Florida, or nationwide. Until we have enough tests to determine if we've located the majority of those who either have it or might be carrying it (since it spreads from people who don't experience any symptoms to those who do), we aren't out of the woods yet, folks.
