| Lightning Strikes 03/19/20 10:38:40 AM #32: | Many of the security measures people are talking about were commonplace outside of the US in the 90s and earlier in many countries. The Iraq War it led to is a much much bigger story than 9/11, with a much bigger impact. Or the Syrian Civil War for that matter. The global financial crash is also a bigger story. And if you want tragedies there is the 2004 boxing day tsunami that killed over 200,000 people. Hell, the Yugoslav wars lasted for ten years, killed ~150,000 people, displaced 4,000,000 and completely restructured that area. Oh, and the fall of the Soviet Union!
