Death-wise, probably my oldest half-brother in 2000, not because we were close or anything (he was 21 years older) but mainly because his death seemed to screw the sanity of most of his full blooded siblings. Other than that, my dad's dad in 1994; I was only 9 at the time and we had generally visited weekly, so it was a brutal first death experience.

Anything remotely recent would be my kids' mother; she more or less took off shortly after our son turned 2 in 2018 and she isn't really around much. The loss of relationship was bad enough initially but it initiated a bunch of drama that ebbs and flows with primarily her mother, and occasionally, her [our] daughter longs for her. Our son barely ever mentions her at all. I'm not sure if he just doesn't really care, but I feel his sister likely gets slightly preferential treatment in that camp, and perhaps that influences it. *shrug*
