She looked like the ginger women in my mom's family, with a particularly uncanny resemblance to my mom. We were friends before it happened, talked for a long time, so when I said "You look like my mom!" she got kinda mad and never talked to me again. It wasn't a few years later until I had an uncle die and got to know some people in my family that I'd never met did I find out we were related. Then my sister did 23&me a few years ago and she showed up on there lol. If she didn't look like my mom I probably would've gone for it regardless.
