| trdl23 02/18/20 2:39:52 PM #9: | If I were to dismiss Final Fantasy Syndrome as the reason why IC is my favorite, I would instead say that Zidane carries it hard. I love the dashing, charismatic rogue character archetype, and he embodies it well while still being a worthy protagonist for the series. The Youre not alone sequence would not have hit as hard if it had been any other series protagonist going through the same turmoil that Zidane was. Vivi is phenomenal as well, of course, hes my boy, but the game doesnt work without Zidane leading the charge. Sorry I am writing super poorly. I always struggle to express why I am so attached to IX. I fully recognize its flaws now. The back half of the cast is either disposable or actively atrocious; the gameplay could have been tightened up hard; the final boss is almost insulting in its presentation. Yet I keep coming back to it as my gem from the series. Maybe it is just Final Fantasy Syndrome. --- E come vivo? Vivo! ... Copied to Clipboard! |
