I can see how the music's supposed to sound icy cold! Overall the sound is nice, but its a bit mechanical sounding to me. I LOVE those soft bleets that double the melody (no idea what theyre called). Later, the violins add much needed energy... it's kinda fun the way they bounce around, and when they arpeggiate up at the end... aw, yeah! Simple ideas that work nicely here. A simple melodic fragment getting transposed into related minor keys is cool. I like the feelings evoked by the slower pace at 0:29!! Harmonies are cool when the melodies start to run loose and wild. Finally, its the unmistakable Touhou synth at 1:08(boo) I guess it provides energy for its climax, though. 1:31 provides some fun electronic panning effects! After that, I actually find it refreshing how it drops down to just drums and the honkey tonk-like instrument at 1:49.
