i don't, but that's not how the society i live in works - so i am. i accept it.
me being pre-judged doesn't affect me in the same way it would if i had a different skin color, or was born in a different part of the world, or had an outwardly feminine appearance.
one night on the bus a drunk old black man told me before getting off that i look like a serial killer. "yeah, murder a whole family. i'm just sayin' you look the type." and yeah, i guess i do. thin, white, thick-rimmed glasses, quietly staring out the window of the 11pm bus heading into chicago's west side. the guy telling me this has surely been followed around in stores, stopped by cops, fucked over by teachers - all because he 'looks the type.'
So he has been racially profiled (which sucks) and therefore racially profiles you? Classy...... I mean, what else are you supposed to look like and what else should you be doing while ridding a bus? ---
