Overall, most of these exemptions aren't beyond the scope of the same sort of "confidentiality" a lawyer, doctor, therapist, or accountant would have. The difference is, most of those are necessary for the job those people do in some way. Lawyers need to maintain confidentiality to ensure people maintain their right to a fair trial. Medical professionals have to maintain privacy because violating it, in addition to just being highly immoral, can also endanger people. Religious institutions though?
