They phased Apu out of the show last year but apparently it seems like theyre planning on bringing him back but with a new voice actor whos actually Indian. Its stupid because if his voice is too different itll be jarring and unlikable but if they get an Indian actor to voice him who actively attempts to simulate Hank Azarias voice for Apu then itll be pointless to change actors. It also goes to show the hypocrisy that Groundskeeper Willie isnt voiced by Scotsman and Bart Simpson isnt voiced by a young boy. Apparently this policy only applies to people of marginalized communities or something... Its because literally like twelve people whined and complained and acted as if they speak for the 1.3 billion Indian people on the planet. Its the same thing with the Washington Redskins. You have a very small vocal group who throws a tantrum. Meanwhile, most Native Americans said they were fine with the name when polled. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
